Exemption or Concession for First Home Owners with Families - Duty Calculator

For contracts entered into on or after 1 July 1998, this calculator will determine your Duty payable after taking into account the first home buyer exemption or concession. Please see instructions below on how to use the calculator.
Instructions
Screen 1
- Click on the boxes to choose between the existing home or vacant land calculator. For example click on the first box if your house is a fixed home. Enter the date the Contract of sale was entered into.
- Click 'NEXT' to move to the next screen.
Screen 2
- Enter the number of dependants under 18 years of age.
- Enter your income. (for contracts entered into between 1/7/1998 and 30/6/2002)
- Select whether the property is your principal place of residence. (for contracts entered into after 1/1/2007)
- Enter the price you paid for the property the existing property or the total value of the land and dwelling constructed in whole dollars. For vacant land calculation also enter the cost of construction of the dwelling. For example: 160000 or 160,000 are valid formats.
- On completion of this screen, click 'NEXT' for a calculation of the Land Transfer Duty and whether you are eligible for a full or partial exemption.
- Click 'Reset' at any time to clear the details you have entered.
