You are here

All registered car park owners and operators should receive a pre-populated annual return each November.

You use your annual return to declare the number of parking spaces you own or operate and to claim any exemptions or concessions. If you did not receive an annual return, please contact us.

Note: owners and operators in the category 2 levy area did not receive an annual return in November 2014. Your 2015 registration will replace your requirement to complete an annual return for 2015 only.

Review your annual return

Your annual return will be pre-populated with your relevant details, so it is important that you check the information to ensure its accuracy. If any of your details are incorrect, there is a section in the form where amendments can be made.

Please refer to the explanatory notes for guidance.

Complete your annual return

Please use black or blue pen when completing your annual return.

Please note that, even if your car park situation has not changed in the past year, we require confirmation annually of the total spaces that existed as leviable parking spaces in the relevant calendar year.

Additionally, if you have changed your details or are claiming a new exemption or concession, you should attach the relevant completed form(s) to your annual return.

Your completed annual return must lodged by 21 January of the following year.

Next steps

Levy assessments are mailed to private car park owners and public car park operators in mid-March. You can pay in full or in equal, quarterly instalments (21 April, 21 July, 21 October and 21 January).

Please note, for the 2015 year only, parking spaces in the category 2 levy area will be levied based on their estimated usage for that year. We will use your 2016 annual return to adjust your levy for 2015 to account for the actual usage of the parking spaces at the end of the 2015 year.

For 2017 and beyond, the levy will be based upon usage of parking spaces in the preceding calendar year. For example, the 2017 levy assessment will be determined based upon the usage during the 2016 calendar year.
