How do I gain an extension for the Annual Reconciliation?
There are no extensions available for the 2007-08 Annual Reconciliation. The due date for lodgement and payment is 21 July 2008.
If your completed AR, and payment have not been received by the SRO by the due date, penalty tax up to 25 percent plus interest may apply from the original due date (as shown above).
How can I pay any e-AR liability?
Pay Online
The SRO recommends the Westpac controlled online payment option. It is secure and is the quickest and simplest method to ensure your payroll tax obligations are met.

You have a number of options for payment, which include EFT, BPAY, and by mail.

How do I get help with the e-AR?
If you require help at any stage you can use the help file or email the SRO via the 'Contact Us' button.
How do I save the information I have entered?
Your data up to the last completed page is automatically saved when you click on the 'SAVE' button, or when you click on the ‘EXIT’ button displayed at the bottom of the page or when you close your Internet browser by clicking on the X button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
How do I make changes if I have already lodged my AR?
If a previously lodged AR return is incorrect, you can lodge a replacement AR return.
Click the 'Annual Reconciliation' button on the left-hand navigation bar. You will then be presented with the 2007-08 Electronic Annual Reconciliation (e-AR) page. On this page click on the Change Data button in the Return Action column to the right of the most recently lodged AR.
The Employer Details page will then be displayed showing the information previously lodged. To commence changing data on this return use the NEXT button on the bottom of the screen to take you to the screen upon which you wish to change data.
Please note that data changed on certain screens may force you to review all subsequent screens.
For example, if in your initial return you indicated that you paid no FBT but in your updated return you indicate that you do pay FBT, this will change your Victorian Taxable Wages and your Liability Calculation, hence you will be required to review all screens from the Victorian Wages screen onwards.
Once you have changed the necessary data YOU MUST go to the Lodgement page and click on the LODGE button. This will send a replacement AR return to the SRO. The 2007-08 Electronic Annual Reconciliation (e-AR) page will then be displayed upon which will be shown the record of the replacement return lodgement and its lodgement number.

Can I leave the e-AR and come back to it?
You can exit the e-AR software at any stage and come back to it at a later date.
Your data up to the last completed page is automatically saved when you click on the 'SAVE' button, when you click on the ‘EXIT’ button displayed at the bottom of the page or when you close your Internet browser by clicking on the X button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
If I lodge my AR via the internet will I be able to get a printed copy?
If you did not print your Annual Reconciliation (AR) before Lodgement you are able to retrieve the data and print a hard copy of the Annual Reconciliation. Upon re-entry to the e-AR software you will be taken to the 2007-08 Electronic Annual Reconciliation (e-AR) screen.
To print a hard copy of your AR that you previously lodged, click on the 'View/Print' button in the 'Other Action' column to the right of the appropriate AR that you wish to print.
A copy of your Annual Reconciliation will now be displayed in a new window. To print from this screen use the Internet browser print button available at the top of the screen to print a copy. Once you have finished printing, click on the X displayed in the top right hand corner of the new screen to return to the 2007-08 Electronic Annual Reconciliation (e-AR) screen.
Why have I been sent back to the Login or Information page?
The system automatically logs you out after 30 minutes of inactivity (no keyboard action). To access the software again, simply log back in.
A less common reason for being sent back to the login or Introduction page is because your internet connection has lost your 'cookie'. A cookie is an internal program run from your computer that holds a record of your login.
In either case (timeout or loss of your cookie) simply log back into the software and click on the appropriate selection in the left-hand navigation bar to go to the last page in which you were last working.
What do I do if the payment figures displayed are incorrect?
If any payment details displayed in the Victorian Tax Paid by you directly to the SRO section of the e-AR are incorrect or incomplete, please change the total amount at the bottom of the payments list and provide discrepancy details in the text box at the bottom of the screen.
Will I receive an acknowledgement from the SRO when I send my information through the internet?
Once you have completed your e-AR return and clicked on the LODGE button on the Lodgement page you will be issued with a lodgement number and returned to the 2007-08 Electronic Annual Reconciliation (e-AR) page.
This lodgement number is acknowledgement that you have successfully lodged your e-AR to the SRO.
If your AR return calculation resulted in further tax payable, then from this page you can now make payment by clicking the 'PAY LIABILITY' button in the Payment Action column. When this button is clicked the tax payable amount will be displayed, along with payment options ’Pay Online’ and ‘Other Payment Options’. The SRO recommends you pay your liability using the online payment method.
