Declare vacant properties by 15 January 2018

Homes located in inner and middle suburban Melbourne left unoccupied for more than six months in 2017, may attract vacant residential land tax.
If you own a property in one of the affected council areas and it was unoccupied for six months or more between 1 May and 31 December 2017, you must notify us via our online portal by 15 January 2018.
Our compliance program will look at both non-reporting of vacant properties and incorrect exemption claims.
