The SRO has released the latest quarterly data on the top 10 postcodes, based on volumes, for First Home Owner Grants (FHOG) paid in regional Victoria, metropolitan Melbourne, and Victoria overall. This data covers the period from 1 April 2014 to 30 June 2014.

The battle between the south-east and south-west of Melbourne for the title of the most popular postcode for Victorian first-home buyers continued, and for the third consecutive quarter Cranbourne, Devon Meadows and Skye (postcode 3977) with 200 grants pipped Hoppers Crossing and Tarneit (3029) on 177 grants.

That result sees postcode 3977 take the 2013-14 "title" as the most popular postcode for first-home buyers with 757 grants. Postcode 3029 finished second with 718 grants. These two postcodes were also 1st and 2nd in 2012-13, however finishing positions were reversed last year.

The data is also available for various periods since the inception of the FHOG scheme in July 2000. The year-to-date data will continue to be updated on a quarterly basis.
