The SRO has released the latest quarterly data on the top 10 postcodes, based on volumes, for First Home Owner Grants (FHOG) paid in regional Victoria, metropolitan Melbourne, and Victoria overall. This data covers the period from 1 January 2014 to 31 March 2014.

It’s a battle between the south-east and south-west of Melbourne for the title of the most popular postcode for Victorian first-home buyers. For the second consecutive quarter Cranbourne, Botanic Ridge, Cannons Creek, Devon Meadows and Skye (postcode 3977) with 170 grants held out Hoppers Crossing, Tarneit and Truganina (3029) on 128 grants. With three-quarters of the financial year already gone, 3977 holds a slight lead on 3029.

The data is also available for various periods since the inception of the FHOG scheme in July 2000. The year-to-date data will continue to be updated on a quarterly basis.
