Registrations for the Commercial Passenger Vehicle Service Levy open on 1 July 2018.
The process is completed online at sro.vic.gov.au/triplevyregistration
Registration takes about 5 minutes.
First – read through these declarations and acknowledge them before proceeding.
Then enter your details. Tab through the fields and enter the required information. Be careful to enter your email address accurately as we use this address to send important information to you, such as passwords, reminders and instructions for your quarterly lodgements.
Enter your ABN – the system automatically identifies your business and your business type.
The next step is to select what category of service provider you are. Are you a driver, operating your own rank and hail business? Or are you representing a booking service? Perhaps you are a booking service who has agreed to lodge and pay returns on behalf of others for their rank and hail work? You could be one of these or a combination.
Take your time with this step, as your selection impacts the type of quarterly returns you need to submit later on. For more information about the category types, visit sro.vic.gov.au/triplevy
Once you’ve made your selection, enter your registration ID with the Commercial Passenger Vehicle Commission. The ID you provide depends on the type of service provider you are. For example, if you are a commercial passenger vehicle driver and you are registering for the levy because you operate a rank and hail business, you would provide your driver accreditation number.
The final step in registering is to enter the date of the first trip you made on or after 1 July 2018. In this example we will enter 10 July 2018.
That’s it! Check your email inbox for our confirmation email. If it doesn’t appear, check your junk mail folder.
After your registration has been processed by us you will receive instructions relating to your first quarterly return, for the period July to September, which is not due for completion until October.
