The 2018-19 payroll tax threshold is $650,000, which equates to a monthly deduction entitlement of $54,166 per month. If you pay wages in other states or territories, or only employed people for part of the financial year, the threshold is reduced based on your interstate wages and your employment period.

The 2018-19 payroll tax rate is 4.85% or 2.425% for employers based in regional Victoria who pay at least 85 per cent of their wages to regional employees. More information about the reduced payroll tax rate for regional employers is available at
