Options for repaying the First Home Owner Grant.
Applicants may need to repay the grant if you:
- were ineligible
- provided false information
- didn’t meet the residency requirements
- choose to voluntarily disclose an issue with your application.
Payment methods
If you receive a notice to repay your First Home Owner Grant, you can pay by:
Electronic funds transfer
Use the bank account details provided on your repayment notice. Alternatively, call 13 21 61.
By mail
Send a cheque payable to the State Revenue Office of Victoria along with the remittance slip included in your notice to:

Voluntary disclosures
If you want to repay the grant voluntarily, please submit a voluntary disclosure.
Payment plans
You can apply for a payment plan for up to 12 months. Interest applies to late and unpaid amounts.
