Drive-away deals and luxury car tax threshold in 2021-22

The Commissioner of State Revenue Victoria has published his annual guidelines to help licensed motor car traders calculate the dutiable value of cars they sell on a drive-away deal basis on or after 1 July 2021.
The rate of motor vehicle duty applied to a new or used passenger car, other than a green passenger or primary producer passenger car, depends on its dutiable value and the Commonwealth luxury car tax threshold, which is $69,152 for the 2021-22 financial year.
