Work-life balance and staff development generate motivation, commitment and greater productivity. The SRO is committed to providing flexible options and career development to our staff members.
Our flexible work arrangements include flex-time, purchased leave and hybrid working, as well as various health and wellbeing initiatives.
Looking after you
We encourage healthy work practices and lifestyles, which is reflected in our exceptional occupational health and safety (OH&S) record. As part of our proactive approach, we provide:
- annual flu vaccination rebates
- health and wellbeing events
- eyesight testing
- ergonomic assessments
- early intervention programs
- free 24-hour counselling and support service for you and your direct family
- flexible working opportunities.
Our thriving Social Club arranges regular activities including multicultural lunches, trivia nights and end of year celebrations for a small fortnightly membership fee deducted from your salary.
Our Social Responsibility Committee holds fun fundraising events to support charities throughout the year. This, along with a volunteering program and blood donation leave, helps make the SRO a strong socially responsible employer.
How we reward you
We encourage open and honest communication and innovation, supported by annual performance development and progression plans (PDPPs). We also recognise individual and team achievements via a monthly reward and recognition program.
What we pay you
We offer competitive salaries, with most staff eligible for additional annual progression payments through their PDPPs.
Staff conditions, including pay rates, are in the current Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2020. We also comply with the National Fair Work Employment Standards.
Superannuation
We make compulsory employer contributions (currently equal to 11% of your salary) into your nominated complying superannuation fund or default industry fund Aware Super. You can also make extra contributions to your superannuation before or after tax is deducted.
Equal opportunity workplace
Workplace diversity means recognising, respecting and valuing the rich and diverse attributes people bring to the State Revenue Office. We also have obligations to prevent all forms of harassment or discrimination. Our equal opportunity policy promotes an environment in which all staff can work free from intrusive or offensive practices and where every person's rights are respected.
